The KFC in Gori is different. The fries come without salt, the ketchup costs extra, and the burger has no sauce—just a bun, lettuce, and a piece of fried chicken. At first, I thought something was missing. But then I realized: maybe nothing was. If food is simply a way to survive, this is enough.
In Korea, We eat to feel alive—to release tension, to reward ourselves, to fill an emotional gap. Here, food just… is. I haven’t been here long. But unlike Seoul, I don’t see shops chasing pure sensation for its own sake, or riding the hype. You eat, and then life goes on. No dopamine spike, no emotional event—just continuity.
The shop was nearly empty, yet the workers moved slowly, dancing lightly to some Turkish-style pop music in the background. My order took more than fifteen minutes, but somehow it didn’t feel wrong. I just watched a dancing. Time doesn’t rush here. Labor, consumption, and rhythm flow together in a single, unhurried pulse. In Gori, the boundary between work and life is blurred.
