๐Ÿชถ Gori Note #6 โ€” The Comfort of Unkindness ?

In Gori, unkindness is not dislike. A lack of a smile is not suspicion or hostility. It simply means that you are not recognized as a special personality. You are treated like an objectโ€”and strangely, that makes me feel at peace. There is no judgment here. No silent reading of emotions, no โ€œHow is he feeling today?โ€ type of gaze. Even after visiting the same restaurant more than ten times, they still donโ€™t โ€œrememberโ€ me. I donโ€™t โ€œrememberโ€ them either. There is no liability.

I am just another body entering their space. Kindness, on the other hand, always contains awareness. A smile means theyโ€™ve noticed you, and that you have become a non-ordinary presence in their day. And where there is awareness, there is judgment. It become tip ๐Ÿ˜…

Sometimes I miss that 1 percent of kindness. But at the same time, there is a strange comfort in this unkindnessโ€”a stillness that asks for nothing, a neutrality that lets me exist without shape. Right now, Iโ€™m experiencing both at onceโ€”a double perception, where comfort and confusion overlap. Itโ€™s disorienting, and yet, it makes me feel vividly alive.

And the taste? Great!
